Our one hour rides (about one and
a quarter hours in duration) go around the lanes, farmland, woodland and bridleways locally.
The two hour rides
(about 2 hours 20 minutes) venture onto the bridleways of the South Downs; rolling hills, heathland, grassland, scrub and
forest in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Some routes take us into Kingley Vale nature reserve through dense
groves of ancient Yew trees, open countryside and past the Devils Humps or tumuli
(bronze age Viking burial mounds)
over 200 metres above sea level.
Here there are spectacular views over the coastal plain to Chichester, along
the South Coast in the east and across the Solent to the Isle of Wight in the west with other panoramas deep into downland
countryside.
In other rides we go around Walderton Down and Stansted Park; through woodland, meadows and grassland
with stunning coastal views and glimpses of hidden downland villages.
